E-MAIL NEWSLETTER: Dana requested that articles be submitted for January 15th deadline. ~Allison volunteered to submit an article for the William P. Kincaid Scholarship Fund. ~Bill will submit articles drawn from "Chieftain" publications as well as personal teacher experiences at IHHS. Past Senior Class pranks were thought to be a topic of interest. ~Jay will submit follow-up articles for the Saturday, June 21, 2003 IHHSAA Northeast Regional Reunion in Boston, MA. ~Jeff will submit follow-up articles and photos for the Saturday, October 4, 2003 Golf Outing. ~Geoff will seek interviews and information covering the opening of the new IHHS at 6845 Drake Road in 1963. Discussion took place regarding the possibility of including photos within E-Mail Newsletters. It was noted that all IHHSAA members do not have computer equipment that could handle such downloads and it is our desire to serve all members as best as possible. It was suggested that we have a link to lead members to our website (http://www.ihhsaa.org) for any desired photo input. WM. P. KINCAID SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Allison requested support in considering applications submitted and distribution of funds in a timely and proper manner. Allison and Jay are hopeful to have a meeting with Peg to review files and to discuss this fund in more detail. They will also discuss formation of a new committee. It was suggested that we make note in the E-Mail Newsletter of a need for volunteers to serve on this committee. ARCHIVES: Greg reported that he and Herb Hillard (Class of 1954) have done a wrap-up for the Sports Hall of Fame years 1954-1979. The cost and type of plaque to be used will be explored. "Legend" advertisement costs will be confirmed. Our concern is submission of an ad to meet their time line for 2003. Greg will move forward in obtaining "Legend" copies for our Archive files. It was suggested that each year we purchase one or two copies from Greg's "wish list" of missing yearbooks. Cost is $45.00 each. It was also suggested that we solicit yearbook contributions in our E-Mail Newsletter. SOCIAL REPORT: Jeff reported that things are on track for the Golf Outing in Mason, Ohio. He will follow up regarding details of the "flag per hole" concept with Crooked Tree personnel. Geoff and he are clear about handling of funds. As other arrangements for volunteers, food, carts, tee times, etc. develop Jeff will report back to us. IHHS ALUMNI MAILING: Jay presented a three-page rough outline of his proposed letter to be send out to IHHS Alumni. This was similar to a mini-workshop for all present to give suggestions before the final copy was to go to the printers. MISCELLANEOUS: Bill made special note that the High School Library/Media Center has an "Authors" section. The books on display are contributions from alumni and cover many topics. It was suggested that we include an article in the E-Mail Newsletter on this subject. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM. Respectfully submitted, Joan K. Ewell Secretary
