Even the weather cooperated. The torrential thunderstorms, which had
pounded the area in previous weeks, took a break for the day
and with a lovely evening, the festivities were able to go on as planned.
Shari Deem Eberle ('73), Chairperson for the Reunion, and her husband,
"Chip" ('73) decorated the stone columns leading into the Boat Club, so
everyone could easily find their way to the party.
It was because of Shari's endless effort that we had such a terrific
Reunion. She spent weeks in the planning, and executed everything
to a "T!"
Previous Reunions have been held at the High School,
Moonlite Gardens, on a River Boat, and Kenwood Country Club.
As party-goers arrived, they were greeted by Trustees
Geoff Strauss ('67) (left) and Dana Ewell ('58) at the sign-in desk
Geoff is the Treasurer of the Alumni Association. Dana maintains
the web site and database.
Here, partygoers were checked off against the Reservation List.
Then, they were issued their tickets for the door prizes that would be
awarded later in the evening, after the buffet dinner.
Trustee Dana Ewell ('58) (on the right) welcomes
retired faculty member Boyd Roberts.
Mr. Roberts (that's what we
all called him back then) taught Science to 7th and 8th Grades and
Physical Science to the 8th Grade between 1951 and 1975.
He now lives in Spring Hill, Florida.
Ken Juergens ('56) is joined by Bill Kincaid, retired faculty and
honorary member of 1959, and Trustee Ed Fischer ('60)
Ken is a former airline pilot, who now teaches pilots, and Ed
owns and operates his own paint company.
Here, they gather by the covered terrace, just before dinner.
Later, Ed was joined by two of his fellow members of the class of 1960,
Gayle (MacKenzie) Taylor (on the left) and Karen (Bonini) McGee.
These three have made it an annual habit of getting together each year at
the Alumni All Class Reunion.
It would almost not seem like a reunion, now, without these "three
musketeers."
Here, Boyd Roberts joins the Honoree for the evening, former
faculty member Charlie True. This was a reunion for them, too,
because they served on the faculty together for nine years.
Charlie taught Physical Education from 1967 to 1988, and really helped
develop the department into the dynamo it became. He also was Line Coach
for Coach Joe Clark for 7 years, during the years Indian Hill had such a
remarkable winning streak.
In September he will be inducted into the Northern Kentucky Athletic
Director's Hall of Fame for his record of play at Dixie Heights School.
He is already in the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame and the area
Knothole League Hall of Fame!

The evening was so lovely, that dancing and dining was done on the
covered outside terrace, right on the banks of the rushing Little Miami
river (just off to the right beyond the big tree).
With the heavy rains earlier in the week, the river was high and swift,
adding its own special melodies to the evening.
Newly installed Trustee President Jay Noiman ('79) was joined by
Membership Chairperson Angela (Kovach) Arway ('86) in officiating
over the activities.
Here, they are calling out the numbers drawn for winning door prizes.
The door prizes they awarded included tickets to a Reds baseball game,
the lovely planter center pieces on the tables, and even included one of
the marvelous Alumni Association Coverlets.
As luck would have it, the winner of the Coverlet was the
outgoing President, Peg (Smith) Groene ('73).
Here, she shows her husband, Gary, how rich and comfortable it is.
She said that it would be especially nice to have while she recuperated
from some upcoming surgery (which, by the way, went very well).
After a lovely buffet dinner, a really special sheet cake decorated with the
Alumni Association Logo and in Indian Hill colors, generously provided by Page
Busken ('60) of Busken Bakery, was served for dessert (Thank You so
much, Page).
The cake included several really neat pictures of alumni activities.
(And, it was SOoooo tasty!)
Next year, the All-Class reunion will be held in Atlanta! Hope you all can come!
Happy and
excited alumni and their dates or mates gathered at the
Miami Boat Club in Miamiville on Saturday, June 9th, 2001 for
the 5th All-Member Alumni Association Reunion.
